Types of therapy

The ways we work.

Your psychologist uses the approach that fits you, and often draws on more than one.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A structured, present-focused approach to the link between thoughts, feelings and behavior. You learn to notice and test the automatic thoughts and habits that keep distress going, and to try different responses in everyday life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Pairs change work with acceptance, and teaches practical skills in four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is often used when emotions feel intense or hard to ride out.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

The first-line treatment for chronic sleep difficulties. Rather than focusing on sleep hygiene alone, it works on the schedule, habits and worry that keep the body awake, usually over a defined run of sessions.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

A structured approach to processing traumatic and distressing memories. Guided bilateral stimulation helps the brain settle a memory so that recalling it no longer carries the same physical and emotional charge.

  • Insight-oriented psychodynamic therapy

Works from the idea that present difficulties are often rooted in earlier experiences and in patterns you may not see clearly. Sessions look at how that history shows up in your current relationships, feelings and choices, aiming for insight that leads to lasting change rather than symptom relief alone.
